CHANGE is afoot, but in some ways for me familiarity will remain.
I am writing this blog on the eve of a new dawn for me in my career, as I prepare to start work in the developing, exciting world of online sports video streaming as an MCR Operator. In many ways, it'll be almost too good to be true. Consuming wall-to-wall sport in my job from across the globe.
However it will have it's challenges without doubt and a big learning curve.
It is a change which excites me greatly though as I move away from journalism, or at least full-time journalism.
However that is not totally true in that I fully intend to, and indeed am excited by the fact, I will be able to pursue the type of sports writing I wish to, on a freelance, part-time basis.
I can't wait to start sharing my pieces and ideas on the site and social media channels over the coming months. I am especially looking forward to providing lots of football retro pieces, and a look at European football past and present. You can expect a lot from Serie A, the Premier League, Irish Premiership, the upcoming European Championships and whatever other sports story of the week catches my imagination.
